I am so thrilled how this trash-to-treasure came out.  This 5 drawer highboy mahogany dresser was very beat and tired when we got it.  It took a lot of patience in prep and cleaning, but well worth the effort. Embellishments at top and bottom drawers were added by pressing paper clay into Iron Orchid Designs’ mold then glued on. It was painted in Chateau Chic Chalk Furniture Paint’s Deep Water Gray which was topped in a black glaze.  The top was brought all the way down to wood, so Ebony stain was applied and finished in a Semi Gloss Varnish. The hardware had to be replaced for the most part and all were painted a hammered Black.  Also, the beautiful mermaid artwork was not done by hand, but was applied using Iron Orchid Designs (IOD) Sea Queen Decor Transfer.  The base was then sealed in a Flat Acrylic Varnish. We are loving all the IOD products, by the way.  We are thrilled how the mix of casual and elegance work so well together on this piece. It’s great for your beach house, nautical house – or any house design!  Shabby meets Chic – Cape Cod Style!

We hope you enjoy our little Sea Queen as much as we do. – Linda
